Gordon Bok with The January Men & Then Some

The January Men & Then Some were gathered together in January 1996 by Gordon Bok as a male chorus to explore working songs of the sea. They say, “You might notice that two of our men are women. We noticed that back in ’98.’” (They were a little light in the tenor section.)

They have performed at the Camden Library, Camden Opera House, The Waldo Theater, and The Sail Power & Steam Museum as well as the Rockport Folk Festival and the Merryspring Gardens Fall Festival. They can be heard on many Gordon Bok recordings including his most recent album, "Windcalling", released in 2023.

Their music is comprised of traditional songs of the east coast of England, both coasts of the U.S. including the Chesapeake Bay, Africa, Russia and Ireland, as well as music composed and arranged by group members. Mostly a cappella, strong…
