Saturday, June 29 - Anni Clark

Singer/Songwriter

Anni Clark is part folk, part blues, sometimes pop, but all parts original. Anni was nominated for “Female Vocalist of the Year” in the Texas Music Awards for her newest CD Anni Clark LIVE. Maine’s Kennebec Journal wrote, “what I love about Clark is that she can have you laughing one moment and close to tears the next with the honest emotions in her material.”

Saturday, July 13 - State Street Traditional Jazz Band

Authentic New Orleans-style Jazz

Since 1989, the State Street Traditional Jazz Band has performed vintage New Orleans Jazz. This is enchanting music - jazz as it was first birthed in the French Quarter of New Orleans and throughout the Louisiana Delta from the turn of the last Century, the early to mid-1900s.

The band performs familiar early jazz songs, blues numbers and old New Orleans spirituals dating back over 100 years. Favorites from this era played by the band include: When the Saints Go Marching In, Has anybody Seen My Gal, Saint Louis Blues, and over 150 other songs in their musical repertoire from that time period.

Carl Dimow and David Newsam are eclectic and creative musicians. With Dimow on flute, bass flute, and guitar, and Newsam on eight-string guitar and mandolin, they perform repertoire that ranges from classical music and jazz to the beautiful melodies of Brazilian choro.  Their performances have been hailed as “mesmerizing, “brilliant,” and “sublime.”

Their Up-Island Church performance will include all of these styles of music.
